Dr. Al-Mashat highlighted the depth of the historical
relations between Egypt and Azerbaijan, noting the continuous strengthening of
political, economic, and cultural cooperation since the establishment of
diplomatic relations in 1992, the growth of dialogue at all levels, and the
expansion of cooperation in energy, trade, education, and culture, which has
formed a solid foundation for the growing strategic partnership between the two

relations are witnessing continuous development, reflecting the leaderships'

the increasing convergence of visions and the rising pace of mutual official
visits.
The Minister of Planning, Economic Development and
International Cooperation referred to the successful visit of H.E. Mr. Ilham
Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, to Egypt in June 2024, which
resulted in the signing of seven cooperation documents across various fields,
including economy, digital transformation, electricity, oil and gas, youth and
sports, and investment promotion, in addition to new agreements to support
transport, the pharmaceutical industry, artificial intelligence, and renewable
energy, as well as the transfer of Egyptian expertise in green hydrogen,
ammonia, and the operation and maintenance of power plants.
Minister Al-Mashat also stressed Egypt's keenness to expand
partnership opportunities between the public and private sectors, especially in
areas that support sustainable growth, including green transition, transport,
health, education, and other fields, while focusing on creating an environment
where international partners and the private sector can contribute to achieving
Egypt's development vision, while simultaneously benefiting from the growing
market and the attractive investment climate.
