Dr. Rania Al-Mashat:We continue to review all received comments and proposals according to the announced timeline.

We extend our gratitude to everyone who participated in the organized national dialogue.

We are pleased with the interactive public consultations through opinion articles.

“Egypt’s Narrative for Economic Development” has contributed to enhancing the economic and social dialogue and expanding discussions on Egypt’s economic future.

The Ministry of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation announced that the working groups formed within the framework of the public consultations on “Egypt’s Narrative for Economic Development: Reforms for Growth, Jobs & Resilience” have completed their work.

These groups reviewed the narrative’s chapters and submitted their various comments and proposals regarding macroeconomic stability, investment and foreign trade, industrial development, localizing development and regional planning, as well as issues related to human development.

H.E. Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation, stated that the Ministry is currently studying the various comments and proposals submitted by the working groups and experts regarding the chapters of “Egypt’s Narrative for Economic Development”, in line with the announced timeline.

Minister Al-Mashat added that the public consultations on the narrative was not limited to the organized working groups that examined its details, but also expanded through interactive community engagement via articles and thought pieces written by experts, which enriched the discussion with constructive and valuable insights.

Dr. Al-Mashat also expressed her appreciation for the momentum and high level of engagement generated by “Egypt’s Narrative for Economic Development: Reforms for Growth, Jobs & Resilience”. She noted that it has elevated the economic and social dialogue and broadened the discussion on Egypt’s economic future. The Ministry has received many valuable contributions from experts, academics, and economists, which are currently being carefully reviewed.

“Egypt’s Narrative for Economic Development” serves as a comprehensive framework that integrates the Government Action Program, Egypt’s Vision 2030, and sectoral strategies, taking into account the rapid changes driven by regional and international developments. Its goal is to transition toward an economic model centered on reinforcing macroeconomic stability, focusing on the most productive sectors and those with the greatest export potential, while building on Egypt’s advanced infrastructure and redefining the role of the state in the economy to strengthen competitiveness and encourage private sector participation. This will contribute to continuing the trajectory of economic reform.

“Egypt’s Narrative for Economic Development” includes a coherent set of structural economic and social reforms across various sectors, implemented by 25 entities according to specific timelines, to sustain economic reform, enhance macroeconomic stability, improve the business and investment climate, and accelerate the shift toward a green economy.

It is worth noting that the Ministry of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation launched the national dialogue sessions under the framework of “Egypt’s Narrative for Economic Development: Reforms for Growth, Jobs & Resilience” in September, with the participation of a wide range of ministers, multilateral and bilateral development partners, the private sector, and all relevant stakeholders.

The Ministry made “Egypt’s Narrative for Economic Development: Reforms for Growth, Jobs & Resilience” publicly available on its official website on September 14, enabling specialists and citizens to access its details.
