NIGSD, AUC Conclude 1st Stage of “The Leaders of Change in Dynamic Organizations” Training Program

The National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD), the training arm of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, concluded the first stage of “The Leaders of Change in Dynamic Organizations” training program which was held in cooperation with the American University in Cairo (AUC) over the past two months and trained 60 participants belonging to different administrative apparatus of the state.

 

The closing ceremony witnessed the discussion of policy papers presented by participants, who were divided into groups, under the topics covered by the training program’s two phases under the umbrella of analyzing public policies and strategic management in the public sector, leadership, and institutional reform as the main topics.

 

The policy paper discussion witnessed the presence of the General Manager of Business Development and Human Resources at NIGSD Nabil Fouad, the Director of the International Cooperation Department at NIGSD Amani El-Deib, Adviser to the Minister of Local Development Dr. Khaled Abdel Halim, and assistant professor of economics and public policy at the School of Global Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP) at AUC Dr. Rana Hendy.

 

In this regard, Dr. Sherifa Sherif, Executive Director of NIGSD, confirmed that the training program fits within the framework of the Institute's keenness to cooperate with the most prestigious training agencies and universities, which comes within the Institute's interests in the training and capacity-building system, intending to raise the efficiency of workers and develop their skills and functional capabilities.

 

The policy papers addressed topics such as improving the efficiency and effectiveness of social protection programs, legislative and social constraints for domestic workers, preparing government officials for the digital transformation of public institutions, as well as bullying in primary schools, the financial inclusion of females in rural areas, and the Department of Traffic in Greater Cairo to reduce carbon emissions.
