Egypt’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Dr. Hala El Said headed on Sunday to the UK capital, London, to participate in the activities of the UK_Africa Investment Summit 2020, which is held over a period of three days with the participation of many governments and international institutions.

H.E. Dr. Hala El Said, minister of planning and economic development, explained that the summit will contribute to creating many partnerships that will provide more investment opportunities in the African continent as well as contribute to providing decent work opportunities.

“The UK_Africa Investment Summit 2020 will help in achieving growth rates that contribute to the implementation of the goals of the Africa Agenda 2063” El Said explained.

She further pointed out that running such international forums and summits that call for participation among the countries of the world contribute to achieving the goals of international development and therefore contribute to achieving the sustainable development strategy for each country, explaining that the African continent needs to attract foreign investment and stimulate the international trade movement.

El Said will participate in a seminar entitled: "Egypt as a hub and portal for trade and investment in Africa", organized by the British Business Council, as well as participating in roundtable sessions on projects with focus, which includes housing, transport and water.

The UK_Africa Investment Summit 2020 is the largest annual investment event held for the eighth time outside Africa, it aims to strengthen the partnership between UK and African countries in order to build a secure and prosperous future for all, as well as holding new and large investments.

More than 350 speakers will participate in the summit during more than 30 sessions focusing on the countries of Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, Ethiopia, Nigeria and South Africa. The summit brings together African political leaders and businessmen with the UK government, investors and British international financial institutions.
