Ministers of Planning, Housing, and Local Development discuss means of cooperation in implementing the procedures of developing Egyptian villages within the presidential initiative "Decent Life"

Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Dr. Assem Al-Jazzar, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, Major General Mahmoud Sharawi, Minister of Local Development, and Major General Khairat Barakat, Head of the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics met on Monday to discuss ways of cooperation in implementing the procedures of surveying Egyptian villages, within the steps of implementing the presidential initiative "Decent Life".The meeting was held via videoconferencing, in the presence of government leaders, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS), the Military Survey Authority, and relevant authorities. Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, emphasized that all information related to the various projects of all state agencies must be placed on a single map that is available to all parties, indicating the role of each party in preparing the map, and stressing the importance of training human cadres, to add data to the map. The Minister of Planning and Economic Development added that the availability of accurate and updated data is a necessity to carry out follow-up processes for what will happen on the ground in the villages of the “Decent Life” initiative, in addition to the importance of the basic maps that will be worked on to be more interactive and updated continuously.Dr. Assem Al-Jazzar stressed the importance of integration and coordination between the various authorities regarding data circulation, and that each party shares its data in a database compiled at the state level and makes it available to all parties, in implementation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's directives, to update all data on Egyptian villages and available services. Major General Mahmoud Sharawi, Minister of Local Development, indicated that during the meeting, it was agreed that the base maps contain all the data available to the various parties, for ease of circulation and utilization, and there should be clear base maps for all service facilities, infrastructure networks and residents, as well as Agreement to form a joint technical working group to prepare these maps.Major General Mahmoud Shaarawi explained that the Ministry has made available all the data that was accessed through the local administration teams in the governorates and centers, which include a description of the current situation in all sectors at the level of about 1,400 villages targeted in the first phase of the program.The Minister of Local Development added that the Ministry pays great attention to the information and statistics of the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics, and relies on it in setting up integrated development plans for administrative centers in the context of evidence-based planning.
